It’s not every day that you get recognized as having a talent that will send you around the world to work with dozens of luxury brands and famous models, photographers and stylists. Romulo Pires was working as a mechanic in Brazil when his day came.
Marina Sakamoto, working with a scouting agency in Brasilia, had the unfortunate, yet fortunate timing of getting a flat tire, but then stopped at the shop where Romulo worked to get it fixed. Marina told Romulo that he was attractive and had the innate skill for modeling. With her encouragement, Romulo entered into a model search held by Elite Model Management in Brazil, and subsequently won first place.
It was just a matter of time after that, and when Karl Lagerfeld called to have him work for The Karl Lagerfeld Gallery and Chanel, Romulo Pires’ career shot off the map into space. Since then, he has been seen on runways, in editorial shoots, in luxury brands and fragrance commercials in all types of locations all around the world. For Romulo, it’s all a part of the business, and he adores it. It gives him a chance to foster the Gemini that he is, by being eclectic and never getting stuck doing exactly the same thing.
Even though his first dream was to become a Brazilian soccer player (as is the dream of most young Brazilian boys) his life has taken a different turn and his family, especially his mother, is very proud. Being very religious, Romulo Pires’ mother believes that God has a plan for all of us, and for Romulo, he was able to decipher that plan and lead their family to a better life, by moving them to a better area in Brazil.
Romulo Pires loves modeling, but it isn’t the only aspect of his life he cherishes. His family includes 13 other brothers and sisters, and they are extremely important to him. When he’s not working he loves to spend time with his family and friends. Between editorial shoots for magazines and walking runways in exotic locales, Romulo Pires might be seen catching a movie, playing pool with his friends, playing soccer, practicing Muay Thai, or running, to help keep his already chiseled body in primo shape.
