Romulo Pires : Front & Center On The Runway

Romulo Pires has modeled for leading names in the fashion world, walked the runway for high- end designers, and been featured in the most illustrious magazines.  Coming from a single parent home in which his mother was the sole provider for him and his two siblings, Romulo Pires knew he wanted to make a true difference in the lives of his family.  But how he would do this, he had no idea.  He started working as a mechanic, and his only thought about stardom would be from dreams of becoming a soccer player for Brazil.  But, life is full of surprises, he says, and you never know where it’s going to take you.

Such is the story of a turn of fate for Romulo Pires.  He was working as a mechanic, trying to make a living, (and looking like a hot mess!) when Marina Sakomoto walked into his shop. She was working with a scouting agency In Brazil.  It was she who spotted this diamond in the rough, and saw through all the grease on the face and dirt under the fingernails.  She realized that when cleaned up, this boy would like a million bucks.  When he was changing her flat tire, she said that he was attractive, and recommended he enter the model search contest by Elite Model Management.  As fate would have it, Romulo ended up taking first place in that competition.

When he is not working, Romulo networks within the fashion industry and enjoys what he can learn from them.  He also likes to hang out with his friends, play pool and cards, and go out to a bar or theater. His favorite sport and pastime, however, in true Brazilian style, is playing soccer.
